Delete your account

Only a parent or guardian can delete a StreakOwl household. You can do it yourself from inside the app in under a minute, or ask us to do it by email if you no longer have the app installed.

Option 1 — Delete it yourself, in the app

This is immediate and needs nothing from us.

1. Open StreakOwl and switch into parent mode (tap the parent card and enter your parent PIN).
2. Go to Profile → Delete account.
3. Read the summary. It names every child that will be erased and any subscription that will be cancelled.
4. Enter your parent PIN, type DELETE to confirm, and submit.

The account and its data are gone the moment that request succeeds. If you have never set a parent PIN, the app will ask you to set one first — it is the only thing standing between a child holding an unlocked phone and the family's account.

Option 2 — Ask us, by email

If you have uninstalled the app or cannot sign in, email santosh@ssrlabs.co.in from the parent email address on the account, with the subject "Delete my StreakOwl account".

We reply within 7 days and complete the deletion within 30 days of verifying that the request came from the account holder. We ask for nothing beyond that verification — never a password, never payment details.

What gets deleted

Everything below is erased for the parent and for every child in the household:

• Account details — names, email addresses, phone number, class/grade, school, avatars and profiles.
• Learning data — quiz and question attempts, chapter progress and mastery, review cards, streaks, XP and achievements, focus sessions, homework, exams and timetable entries.
• Ask Owl AI — every tutor conversation and message.
• Social — friendships, friend requests, challenges and referrals.
• Parent controls — screen-time settings and daily records, goals, assigned tests and insight reports.
• Devices and messaging — push tokens, notification history and preferences, sign-in and password-reset tokens.

Any live subscription is cancelled with the payment gateway as part of the same request.

What we keep, and why

• Payment records. The rows recording that money changed hands stay, with your identity stripped out, because we are required to be able to answer a tax or payment-gateway query about a transaction. They become anonymous, not absent.
• Chat messages your child sent to a friend. A message is stored once, not copied into both mailboxes, so erasing it would delete it out of another child's conversation too — messages that child received and still owns. Your child is anonymised in those messages instead. This is the same line Gmail, WhatsApp and Slack draw. It also keeps the safety-moderation record attached to those messages intact, which in a child-safety product is not ours to throw away.

One exception: older student accounts

If a child signed up on their own with their own email before being linked to you, that is their own account, not part of your household. Deleting your parent account removes the link between you and unlinks them — it does not erase their account, because it was never yours to erase. The confirmation screen in the app names any child this applies to, so you know before you confirm. That child can delete their own account the same way, or write to us.

Withdrawing consent instead

If you want to stop StreakOwl collecting your child's data but are not sure about deleting everything, you can withdraw consent from the Parent Dashboard instead. That deactivates the child's account and stops all collection, and is reversible. See our Privacy Policy for what we collect and how long we keep it.
